Since 2022, Oceanic Global has partnered with Corona, a brand synonymous with the beach, to redefine what purpose-driven partnership can look like. Beyond every shoreline lies a living ocean that shapes our climate, nourishes biodiversity, and sustains all life on Earth. Rooted in the belief that we’re not separate from the ocean, and that protecting it protects us too, our collaboration has become a blueprint for how brands can create meaningful environmental and social impact.

Through our long-term partnership with Corona, we’ve been laying a foundation of impact to not only address core challenges facing our world’s beaches, but to also build towards a future where our blue planet thrives.

Together, we drive impact across three core pillars: Beach 100 Grants that protect ecosystems surrounding the Corona Beach 100 beaches, and the underwater world beyond their coasts, Blue Standard Verification that scales sustainability through businesses and events, and Environmental Education that engages global audiences in responsible action.

Beach 100 Grant Initiative

In honor of Corona’s 100-year anniversary, Corona and Oceanic Global launched the Beach 100 Grant Initiative. A complement to Corona’s Beach 100 campaign and an extension of the River Grant program, the multi-year global grant initiative funds community-led projects that protect beaches and the ecosystems they depend on from risks of destruction, and restore their health by building biodiversity and resilience to help keep them thriving for years to come.

Beach 100 Grantees

Worldrise Foundation

In Italy, we’re working with Worldrise to expand the SEATY project, an innovative model creating fully accessible, highly protected marine zones to build resilience and safeguard biodiversity-rich coastal areas from intense tourism pressure.

Peruvian Society for Environmental Law

SPDA created the world's first legal mechanism to protect surf breaks through its flagship program, Hazla por Tu Ola, and we’ve partnered to expand this work to protect even more surf breaks in Peru.

Mission Blue

In partnership with Mission Blue and Abrolhos para Sempre, we’re funding the first comprehensive coral reef survey of the Abrolhos region since 2000, guiding the potential expansion of a community-backed marine reserve across one of the South Atlantic's most biodiverse reef systems.

Rede Marulho Instituto

Our partnership with Rede Marulho supports the recovery and recycling of abandoned fishing nets and glass waste, transforming marine debris into upcycled products that provide sustainable income for local coastal communities.

Parque Punta de Lobos

We’re supporting conservation at one of Chile's most treasured coastal regions by funding habitat restoration and strengthening the operational capacity needed to protect this vital coastal ecosystem.

Vellmari Association

In partnership with Vellmari, we’re restoring degraded Posidonia seagrass meadows to protect one of the ocean's most valuable ecosystems.

River Grant Partners

The Litterboom Project

Since 2023, we have partnered with The Litterboom Project to intercept ocean-bound plastic in two rivers in South Africa, while training locals in upcycling and selling plastic materials through the Reclaimers Program.

Winds for Future

We’ve partnered with Winds for Future to support the Kite for the Ocean initiative, which prevents 1 kg of waste from reaching the ocean for every kilometer sailed by participating kitesurfers.

Sungai Watch

Using simple river barrier technology, we partnered with Sungai Watch to deploy 21 barriers across 14 rivers in East Java to stop plastic pollution from reaching the ocean.

Ichthion

Through our collaboration with Ichthion, we implemented a cutting-edge AI-powered barrier system designed to capture and mechanically categorize plastic waste from rivers before it reached the ocean.

4Ocean

We worked with 4Ocean to install one river boom barrier system on the Rio Motagua river in Guatemala, intercepting ocean-bound plastic waste before it reached the Ocean.

Blue Standard Integration

 

 

The Blue Standard is Oceanic Global’s sustainability verification program: a rigorous, cross-industry framework assessing impact across materials sourcing, waste management, energy, and public engagement. Since 2021, Corona has achieved Blue Verification for its major events ranging from Corona Island and Copacabana and to the Corona Sunsets World Tour and the Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina.

Through the Beach 100 Initiative, that commitment now extends to local businesses surrounding the 100 beaches, sponsoring toolkits, training, and hands-on sustainability support to uplift the environmental efforts of beachfront venues. Businesses that meet the standard are awarded a Blue Standard Seal, a globally recognized verification registered on the International Trade Centre’s Standards Map.

 

Blue Verified Projects

Corona Island

The world's first Blue Verified plastic-free island, Corona Island reaffirmed its Blue 3-Star Seal in 2024, continuing to lead in regenerative tourism through waste-free dining, renewable energy, and coral & mangrove restoration.

Bar Duda Rei: Blue Verified Beach 100 POC

On Fernando de Noronha, where single-use plastics are banned island-wide, Bar Duda Rei earned a Blue 3-Star Plastic Free Seal by eliminating 20 categories of single-use plastic and implementing 7 Blue Actions.

Los Piures Social Club: Blue Verified Beach 100 POC

Built from a restored abandoned structure overlooking Chile's legendary Punta de Lobos surf break, Los Piures is a cocina de playa serving 46,600 guests a year—verified to a Blue 2-Star Seal in March 2026.

Corona Sunsets World Tour

The first fully Blue Verified global festival series. The multi-year tour advances eco-conscious event production across the world, avoiding single-use plastics and embedding immersive sustainability experiences.

Milano Cortina Olympics

For the second consecutive Olympic games, Corona showcased sustainability during the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics by earning Blue Verification for its major activations.

Paris Olympics

Corona showcased sustainability on a global stage during the Paris Olympics in 2024 by earning Blue Verification for both its Golden Beach pop-up and Villa M hospitality site.

Todo Mundo Rio

Set on Copacabana Beach in front of the iconic Copacabana Palace, the 2026 Todo Mundo no Rio activation welcomed 2,500 guests to a Shakira-headlined event verified to a Blue 3-Star Seal, proving the world's most iconic beach can also be the most sustainable.

MTV Events Series

Across four iconic Brazilian stages, the 2025 Corona Luau MTV series brought 7,000+ fans to a Blue 3-Star Seal event, proof a revived music icon can come back greener than it left.

Environmental Education

Together with Corona, we’ve created educational experiences at brand events and activations that engage Corona consumers in sustainability and Ocean conservation. From educational signage on-site at Blue Verified venues and co-creating Club Ocean educational exhibits at the Sunsets Festivals to creating Blue School curriculums and hosting mangrove planting and coral cleaning at Corona Island, we’ve designed educational programming and communication that transform consumers into agents of change.
