Program Overview

For the past 100 years, Corona has been synonymous with the beach. But at the same time, with each passing year, the very beaches that have inspired the brand since the beginning, have continued to decline. In the last century of celebrating beach culture, we’ve learned that beaches are so much more than beautiful views and sand beneath our feet—and that protecting paradise means not only protecting the places we love, but also the nature and surroundings that keeps them alive.

In honor of Corona’s 100-year anniversary, Oceanic Global and Corona launched the Beach 100 Grant Initiative. A complement to Corona’s Beach 100 campaign, the grant initiative is designed to protect and restore—protect beaches and the ecosystems they depend on from current risks of destruction, and restore their health by building biodiversity and resilience to help keep them thriving for years to come.

Background

The grant is fully funded by Corona and made possible through Oceanic Global’s Grant program, dedicated to supporting projects and communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis in implementing solutions catered to localized needs. As an international non-profit organization, Oceanic Global equitably distributes Grants through a process of meticulous sourcing and vetting, onboarding and project management, and impact assessment.

FAQs

The Beach 100 Grant Initiative is a global grant program launched by Oceanic Global and long-time partner Corona in honor of Corona’s 100-year anniversary and to complement its 100 Beaches campaign. It is designed to protect our Ocean, uplift coastal communities, and scale grassroots solutions for a more resilient future. Its primary objectives are to protect beaches and the ecosystems they depend on from current risks of destruction, and restore their health by building biodiversity and resilience for years to come

The Beach 100 Grant is fully funded by Corona.

The grant supports projects with a direct impact on beach health and marine ecosystems, falling under a “Protect & Restore” framework. Key focus areas include:

Plastic Pollution and Marine Debris: Such as beach cleanup and prevention programs, or river interception systems for plastic
Coastal & Nature Resilience: Addressing issues like blue carbon, coastal erosion, and sea-level rise through projects like living shorelines, green infrastructure, beach nourishment, and dune restoration
Habitat Restoration and Biodiversity Preservation: Including Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), coral reef restoration, mangrove and seagrass restoration, invasive species removal, and species recovery and conservation hatcheries

The grants are disbursed through two tiers:

Micro-Grants: For one-year projects requesting between $5,000 and $15,000.
Multi-Year Grants: For multi-year projects seeking between $50,000 and $100,000 per year (for 2-3 years).

Eligible applicants must be credible and legally registered organizations, such as NGOs or community associations, with a demonstrated capacity to implement the proposed activities. For-profit organizations, including social enterprises structured as for-profit entities, are not eligible for the Beach 100 Grant.

Due to the operational policies of our funding partner, the Beach 100 Grant Initiative is unable to accept applications for projects located within the United States, including all U.S. territories and Hawaii.

While we welcome applications from eligible organizations worldwide, Beach 100 currently prioritizes projects in the following regions:

Brazil, South Africa, Canada, Argentina, Colombia, UK, Peru, Chile, Italy, Dominican Republic, and China
Priority regions may be updated between grant cycles. Check back or contact grants@oceanic.global for the latest.

An application form will be available on the Oceanic Global website. Applications are open until end-of-day on Pacific Time on 9 October 2026.

Successful applications will include a clear and feasible implementation plan, measurable outcomes, a sound budget, and strong potential for environmental and community impact. The evaluation criteria are structured and tailored for each tier (Micro vs. Multi-Year Grants).

Beach 100 does not fund the following projects:

installation of artificial reef structures
tobacco/cigarette industry affiliation
projects primarily engaging children or school-aged youth
for-profit organizations, including social enterprises structured as for-profit entities
