Cameroon Beach Clean Up
On 25 January 2025, Oceanic Global’s Universal Hub, in collaboration with ASCOA, organized a large-scale beach clean-up across Limbe, Douala, and Kribi, Cameroon. The event brought together 668 participants, including volunteers, local organizations, and government representatives, all united in their mission to tackle plastic pollution and protect marine ecosystems.
Over the course of six hours, volunteers successfully removed 51 tons of waste, collecting 31,706 individual items. The event not only focused on environmental impact but also fostered community engagement through a variety of activities. Attendees enjoyed live music, a fashion show featuring garments made from recycled plastics, and an interactive virtual reality experience simulating underwater exploration.

ASCOA’s strategic promotional efforts, including social media campaigns and collaborations with TikTok influencers, significantly boosted participation. Notable guests included representatives from the Regional Delegation of Environment and Protection of Nature (Southwest Region), along with key partners such as Greenpeace, Eco-Path, and Cameroon Youth Assembly.
The success of this cleanup highlights the potential for ongoing community-driven environmental initiatives. Future events will continue to focus on mobilizing local volunteers, expanding educational outreach, and strengthening partnerships with sustainability-focused organizations.
