About the Film Festival
The first edition of the Oceanic Global Short Film Festival launched in Summer 2020, spearheaded by the London Hub, with the goal of supporting emerging filmmakers with uplifting environmental and ocean storytelling from around the world. The festival provided participants with exposure through Oceanic Global and festival partner platforms by presenting the opportunity to have their films viewed by a team of critically-acclaimed directors, producers, and filmmakers.
In light of the success of the first film festival, the London Hub hosted a second edition of the Short Film Festival around the theme ‘A Celebration of Change’, which inspired audiences worldwide by showcasing positive and hopeful environmental storytelling.
The event brought together a panel of critically acclaimed judges to review submissions and select the winning films for this year’s edition. The prizes for the final films selected by the jury included mentorship sessions with selected judges and award-winning filmmakers, as well as a free kit hire worth £1000 from New Day Pictures, one of the UK’s leading Film & TV Equipment.
