I care deeply about the Ocean because I grew up around it. My whole entire family and I took many trips to the Ocean. I think it’s losing its beauty because of pollution, and I really want the next generation to enjoy it like I did. And I think there’s still time and a lot of work, but it’s very important for us to pay attention to our Ocean.
A moment that inspired me to start working with the Ocean was this project that I did in Brazil, in Rio specifically. I interviewed a biologist, and I started to learn what Coral Reefs mean—not only to the Ocean, but to the entire world, to the population, to fishermen, Indigenous people, the coastline, and the animals in the Ocean as well.
One tip I would share with everybody would be educating yourself. I think information is everything. And then also choosing products that are supporting sustainability. I think that every step is very important. Of course, we’re not able to do everything, but if each person does the minimum—choosing the right products, not polluting the Ocean, and trying to join activations to help…there are so many little things that we can do that, when combined together, will help a lot with our Ocean.
