Ambassador Q&A

What inspires you to care deeply about the Ocean?

Living in Miami, and in particular directly on the beach, the Ocean plays a huge part in my daily life. Each morning…after a cup or two of coffee of course, I go downstairs for a run on the beach in the sand. Being able to wake up to the sounds of the Ocean while the sun itself is just rising, is such a special way to jump start the day. When that first light hits the Ocean, it’s nothing short of magical, and getting experience that every morning and something I truly don’t take for granted.

How are you working to create a positive impact with your platform?

As Entertainment Director for the 1 Hotels Brand, a lot of the programming that I curate has an educational component to it; sustainable dinner series’, beach clean ups, documentary showcases, and more. On the Alyx Ander side of things, I make it a point to chat with fellow artists and fans about the importance of topics including: Why we should reduce and reuse Why we need to move away from our reliance on single use plastics The importance of just being mindful

If you could share one tip for protecting our blue planet, what would it be?

We only have one Earth, and if we can make one small change in our daily habits in order to become more sustainable, you’d be surprised how much of an impact that small change can have.
