The raising of the World Oceans Day flag will mark a moment of global unity and momentum for the ocean, setting the stage for the UN Ocean Conference in Nice. Against the stunning backdrop of the Regatta of Boats, which will take place on June 8th from 2:30 – 4:00 PM, the symbolic flag raising ceremony will invite the global ocean community as well as the public in Nice to celebrate this year’s UN WOD theme, “Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us.” The Parade of Boats will be viewable from Promenade des Anglais. From June 2nd to 15th, some thirty exceptional ships, grouped under the name “Wonders of the Ocean,” will dock at the port of Nice. They will offer a rich program, including tours and events on board in La Baleine.
