Sea Trash to Swimwear Partnership

Summer 2018: Oceanic Global partnered with Everest Isles to hold a contest supporting beach cleanups and upcycled plastic material.

To celebrate World Oceans Day on June 8, Everest Isles, a NYC-based men’s swimwear brand, and Oceanic Global announced a summer-long contest where three winning photographs of beach debris were converted into exclusive prints for men’s swim trunks, tote bags and t-shirts. The three capsule collections will be available for purchase this fall on www.everestisles.com, and proceeds will benefit Oceanic Global Foundation.

To enter, participants were asked to collect sea trash from any beach worldwide, photograph their findings and upload the images to Instagram. Representatives of both organizations selected three winning images over the span of June through August, that were announced on both of their respective social media pages.  The images were converted into graphics, which were then depicted on swim trunks and tote made from ECONYL® yarn, which is 100% regenerated nylon from abandoned fishing nets and other waste material. The winning images were also converted into prints that will be available for sale on the Everest Isles website. In addition to having their photographs converted into designs, winners will receive a package of the winning collections and prints once they are live.
