On July 29th, Oceanic Global partnered with Electrify Magazine to host a beach cleanup at Riis Landing, Queens. Working together with the NYC Parks Department, around 30 volunteers made the trek to cleanup a corner of our coastline in celebration of the full moon and marine conservation.
We took care to collect cigarette butts separately to recycle through TerraCycle and support The TerraMar Project’s #NoMoreButts campaign. Alexa Gantous (Founder of Trash Talk Studio) also joined us to facilitate a meditation and discussion, guiding our group on a journey towards ecological empathy.
Our volunteers left with Everest Isles sunglasses made from recycled stainless steel, and learned about how to participate in the brand’s swimwear design competition.
