On the 8th October, Oceanic Global in partnership with Agroturismo ATZARO ibiza, Consell d’Eivissa, Plastic Free Ibizaand Plastic Free Formentera brought together leaders in the hospitality industry to unveil the Spanish Edition of The Oceanic Standard.
The Oceanic Standard is a guide for implementing sustainable solutions in the hospitality industry, with a strong focus on eliminating all single-use plastics. Ibiza has pledged to eliminate single-use plastics by 2020 and The Oceanic Standard is a guide for how the hospitality industry can lead in this effort!
The event included a panel discussion with leading experts in the space, moderated by Frances Llopis. Panelist included Doumi Busturia, Founder of Woomoon and Storytellers, David East, Sustainability Specialist in liquid waste for the Hospitality Industry and Sandra Benbeniste, Executive Director of Ibiza Preservation Fund.
Solution oriented vendors showcased sustainable alternatives to single-use plastic items. Vendors included GEA, Tapp Water, Ibiza Love Now, The Nature Project, Green Motiv and Ecovissa.
