Oceanic Global team-members attended the Our Ocean 2018 conference in Bali and Project Manager, Cassia Patel, had the opportunity to share The Oceanic Standard (TOS) at the Youth Leadership Summit. The Government of the Republic of Indonesia hosted the fifth Our Ocean conference to enhance the collaboration and partnership between various ocean stakeholders, which is translated into concrete and actionable commitments.
The conference began with opening remarks by many Indonesian government officials including the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, and the President of The Republic of Indonesia. Notable keynotes and speakers include Dr. Sylvia Earle, Statesmen John Kerry, the Prince of Wales, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, the European Commission MARE, and Joshua Jackson correspondent from Years of Living Dangerously.
Oceanic Global attended and supported side events by our partners and collaborators to celebrate OceanX Media‘s new partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies and Lonely Whale‘s NextWave initiative working with industry leaders including DELL and HP to create products from ocean plastics.
