Due to the global impacts of COVID-19, the hospitality sector – like many others – must think outside the box to meet the needs of the “new normal.” ShiftIn’ 2020 explored how companies are shaping a sustainable future, and why – with global travel much reduced – innovative sustainability within hospitality has gone local.
As a part of our partnership on the festival, we co-curated a roundtable discussion titled “An Industry Regenerated” to discuss sustainable reopening strategies during COVID-19. Top travel & hospitality leaders from around the world joined us to share and discuss how the current global situation led them to re-invent their industry. The discussion was followed by a roundtable session in which key solution providers shared their input and challenge what’s to come next.
During our keynote on the final day of the festival, we announced our educational partnership alongside Les Roches, celebrating Les Roches’ sustainability initiatives to-date as well as highlighting that Les Roches will be implementing the Blue Standard to reduce plastic and waste on their campuses. We also presented our COVID-19 Plastic-Free Reopening Guidelines and shared key takeaways from the industry roundtable.
We’re inspired by the forward-thinking leaders continuing to drive change in their industries – what innovations resonated with you?
