On Saturday, September 8th, Oceanic Global partnered with the NYC Parks Department to host the second in our NYC beach cleanup series at Fort Tilden. Volunteers, including representatives from Salesforce’s Earthforce, came out to spend their Saturday morning picking up trash along the coastline of the National Park.
Collected items were primarily micro-plastics, small pieces of plastic, which pose the greatest threat to both human and ecosystem health. As we walked away from the freshly cleaned beach, a pod of dolphins graced us with their presence, playing in the waves near the shore as if to thank us for our efforts.
