Ambassador Q&A

What inspires you to care deeply about the Ocean?

Thanks to growing up as a professional sailor, I grew up in the Ocean. I was 2 years old when my dad took me sailing for the first day, 5 when I was given my first boat, a little Optimist, and 7 when I won my first sailing trophy. As a result, my life is the Ocean, it has given my friends, family and lifestyle. Therefore, I feel like I own everything to the Ocean. In addition, thanks to science, I understand the need to care about the Ocean. I could not simply look away.

How are you working to create a positive impact with your platform and/or in your own life

I like to reveal the root of the problem, and inspire a change in my followers and environment by helping them understand the problem. For instance, I do not tell them to reduce their plastic consumption. Instead, I explain the process in which plastic is created and biodegraded, and how that is impacting the planet's biosphere. As a result, they understand the problem, change their actions, and help spread the word.

If you could share one tip for protecting our blue planet, what would it be?

Visualize how the planet would look like if no one took action every morning as soon as you wake up, before getting out of your bed, this will be enough to condition all your day choices. Sooner than you expect, your positive choices will result in a sustainable lifestyle.
